Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO)

Ok, so I used to be a gamer. I started gaming back in early years on the nintendo, then the sega gensis, then the computer, then the nintendo 64, then the xbox, then the PS2.... Then I got married and had kids... Those who have done that know that there is not much time left for gaming after working and spending time with family. Well, I recently purchased a new notebook and it had the capability of playing the newer computer games. At first I thought... there isn't enough time in my day for gaming. But then, I saw it... Lord of the Rings Online. It is a MMORPG... you heard me. It stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Those who knew me in high school probably remember that I was a Lord of the Rings fanatic. Eric, Toby, and I probably read the Lord of the Rings series 4-5 times each in Jr. High and High school. They are awesome. I am re-reading them now and they are better then ever! Anyway, this game looked awesome. All LOTR games I have played in the past have sucked. Must of them are hack and slash games or stupid Nintendo 64 "3d" games. This new games is MASSIVE. At this time, you can walk through one part of Middle Earth and engage in multiple quests and battles as you level up your player (you cna be a Dwarf, Hobbit, Elf, or Man). I can't even begin to explain how fun and engaging the game is. You play it completly online and you have to team up with other people to do quests, fight battles, etc. You trade, chat, and fight with other real people as well against the computer characters.

I say all this to alert any hardcore LOTR fans... if you haven't started playing this game yet, you are missing out. It is still in its early stage thus there is a lot of people playing the game. If you start to play, let met know and we can fight battles through Middle Earth together!!! I play late at night, after I have spent time with my wife and children, so you won't catch me on early, but I play as much as I can! Below are a few screenshots of the game.

Veggie Tales: Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler

Life just seems to be flying by. My son, Riley, is huge now. He gets into everything, is talking all the time, and is very very smart. Where is my little baby who couldn't even crawl??? Now I have to listen 24/7 to hear if he's climbing on the bathroom sink or kitchen table. The kid is also hooked on Veggie Tales. He simply calls them Tales. Monkey see Monkey do... the kid knows how to operate the DVD player. He knows if he pushes the one button the DVD tray opens and he will place the DVD on the tray and push it in. This WILL start the movie. He once even picked up the remote and hit the correct button to start the movie. So, I'll be trying to watch 24 or some other cool show and he will just keep grabbing my finger (wanting me to get up) saying "tales, I watch tales...." And of course, most of the time I give in and put it in. Thank God for TIVO! Veggie Tales aren't that bad. ACtually they are quite amusing to watch. I have every Silly Sony with Larry stuck in my head and I sing them all day to myself. I actually ordered him a silly song poster from http://www.bigidea.com. I just bought him the new "tales" called "Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden ruler" Larry is Sheerluck and Bob is Dr. Watson. Alas, the silly song "Gated Community" had much to be desired.

For those of you that have never heard of Veggie Tales, you probably think I'm losing it. Those who don't have kids are laughing at me. Laugh all you want, at least my kid isn't watching Barny or the Wiggles!!!! Eric, you need to start buying Veggie Tales Episodes for Summer. Its a good investment. Start with the "Snoodles Tale" my personal favorite.

Anyways... here are some more pictures of my kids.
